Turkey broke the record in gold output last year. According to the estimates it produced 42 tonnes of the known precious metal, worth 2.4 billion dollars, during the last twelve months. This year it is set to do even better. Just a few months ago an important gold mine, estimated to be worth 5 billion euros, was discovered in northwest Turkey, roughly 350 km south of Istanbul. To those of us working daily with gold- it's truly our bread and butter (and our non-food related routine as well)- this is great news. We know how important raw materials are and that having enough essential resources means being able to keep going non-stop. So...Istanbul, here we come!
